- 2 (14 ounce) cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- ⅔ cup tahini
- ¼ cup hot honey, plus more for drizzling
- ½ lemon, juiced
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ¼ to ½ cup ice water
- olive oil for drizzling
Instructions
- Reserve a few chickpeas to sprinkle on top of the finished hummus.
- In a food processor, add chickpeas, garlic, tahini, hot honey, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Blend and pulse for 2 to 3 minutes, scraping down the sides to ensure everything is well mixed.
- While the processor is running, pour in the ice water and blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper as needed, blending again.
- Spread the hummus in a serving bowl or plate, topping with the reserved chickpeas. Drizzle with olive oil and hot honey, then sprinkle with salt and pepper before serving.
Notes
For a smoky flavor, add a pinch of smoked paprika to the hummus before blending.
This hummus can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
Serve with fresh vegetables, pita chips, or crackers for the perfect snack.
