Description

This Cinnamon Roll Apple Pie combines the irresistible flavors of cinnamon rolls and sweet apple pie filling. It’s a fun and easy dessert that’s perfect for gatherings or a cozy evening at home.


Ingredients

  • 1 (12.4 oz) roll pillsbury cinnamon rolls
  • 1 egg white, whipped
  • 1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 6 tbsp butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup pecans, chopped
  • vanilla ice cream, optional
  • ghirardelli caramel sauce, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and spray a 10" pan with non-stick spray.
  2. Flatten 8 cinnamon rolls and place them in the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. Brush the cinnamon rolls with the whipped egg white.
  4. In a small bowl, combine 2 tbsp sugar and 1/2 tsp cinnamon; sprinkle this mixture evenly over the cinnamon rolls.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes and then remove from oven.
  6. Spread the apple pie filling evenly over the baked cinnamon rolls.
  7. In another bowl, mix softened butter, flour, brown sugar, and 1 tsp cinnamon with a fork to create the crumble.
  8. Sprinkle the crumble over the apple pie filling, followed by the chopped pecans.
  9. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes.
  10. Optionally, top with icing from the cinnamon rolls or serve with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.

Notes

For an extra decadent treat, drizzle with icing or caramel sauce just before serving.
You can substitute the pecans with walnuts or omit them entirely if desired.
Make sure to chill the dessert for 10-15 minutes after baking for easier slicing.
