You have finally decided you want to start baking but there is so much equipment out there that it can become daunting.

Deciding what you need to buy and what you don’t can be exhausting.

I have made this post and gathered everything you will need when you are starting your baking journey.

It doesn’t matter if you have a new kitchen and need to buy everything from scratch or you already have a few items but not the full collection.

This blog post will benefit you either way.

I will start from the beggining with must-have items to items you don’t need but might want.

I hope this post inspires you to start baking your favourite things without worrying about equipment.

Without further ado, let’s get into the best beginner baking essentials.

1. Measuring Spoons

One of the most important parts about baking is measuring.

You have to make sure you are measuring your ingredients exactly as the recipe says or you might create more issues for yourself.

Measuring spoons can be used in basically any baking recipe,

Whether it’s sugar, salt, baking powder or yeast make sure you use the measuring spoons so you can have the best results!

2. Measuring Cups

Another part of measuring is made specifically for bigger quantities.

Things like flour, milk and sugar are very common ingredients in baking and most of the time they would be measured in cups.

Make sure you have at least 4 measuring cups for the most common quantities.

Some better cup choices will also have 2/3 and 3/4 quantities which will make your life even easier.

I have chosen the best option on the market below that only costs lesss than $20!

3. Mixing bowls

Having at least a few mixing bowls is essential when baking.

You will always need to mix ingredients in any baking recipe that you want to do.

Having 3-4 in different sizes would be ideal since you might need them for different purposes.

You might also need to use them simultaniously.

The best thing about mixing bowls is that they don’t have to used exclusively in baking.

You can mix, salads, sauces and all kinds of other things.

They are a must-have for the beginner baking essentials.

4. Measuring Jugs

Another thing that you might need when baking is measuring jugs.

They are not as important as the measuring spoons and cups but there would be some recipes that require it.

Better to be safe than sorry.

They have the oz/ml quantities on them which makes it lot easier to measure any liquid that you need for a recipe.

You can get one big one or a few of different sizes, each is just as useful as the other so it’s more of a preference thing.

5. Digital Scale

This one is not a must but honestly it has changed my life.

Ever since I started using it, it has made baking and cooking so much easier.

That are many recipes that will tell you how many ounces/grammes you need exactly and there are ways to figure it out without a digital scale but it’s a lot more complicated.

At the end of the day, when you are baking you want to be as precise as possible.

So getting a digital scale should be on your to buy list if you are serious about baking.

6. Whisks

Now that you have your mixing and measuring equipment sorted it is time to think about how you will mix your ingredients.

Of course, you can just use spoons and forks and for some recipes that will be fine.

However, there are many ingredients that don’t mix so well without whisks,

A standing mixer would be ideal but if you don’t want to spend the money best thing to buy is whisks.

I recommend going for 3 different sizes so you can be prepared for any recipe that comes your way.

Like I said before this is not a must but it definitely will make your life easier.

Whether you will need it for kneeding, mixing, creaming or folding, having a standing mixer will take a load off your shoulders.

They can do the job for you while you are relaxing or focusing on other parts of the recipe.

I know that it can be a hefty investment for some but I do recommend if baking is something you plan on doing regularly.
