This post will show you the best DIY Christmas wreath ideas.
Christmas is fastly approaching and festive decorations are everywhere.
I don’t think it’s too early to start decorating your home today.
It’s never been easier to create your own decorations and that also includes wreaths.
There’s so many great ideas out there for DIY wreaths that are easy to make and won’t cost a fortune.
Creating your own wreath should be a fun and easy experience that you can do with your friends, kids and family.
I have gathered some tips and examples to help you create the Christmas wreath of your dreams.
Tips for creating a Christmas wreath:
- Choose the base – this is usually the greenery on which you will place the rest of the decorations for your wreath. Choose plants that are evergreen is always best such as pinecone tree leaves or eucalyptus.
- Buy a wreath ring – you will need a metal wire ring as the base for your wreath. This is used to place your greenery and decoration on top. It keeps the circular shape of your wreath.
- Choose the colours of your baubles – baubles are a great addition to your wreath and bring that Christmas spirit. Now you must choose what colour scheme you want to go for. Do you want all red, golden and silver, white or colourful? Options really are endless and it all depends on your preference. If you don’t like baubles, you can just skip this step.
Tips for creating a Christmas wreath
- Choose extra decorations – now that you have placed your base and baubles it is time to choose what other decoration to have on your wreath. Things like pinecones, holly berries, snowflakes, mini christmas tree or even cinnamon sticks and dried oranges are great option to go for. This list is not exclusive so you can add anything your imagination desires.
- Add ribbon – you must choose the colour of your ribbon so it goes well with the rest of the decorations. Then you can create a beautiful bow or star with it and place it in the middle. You can also use the ribbon to hang the wreath. This step is not a must and you can skip the ribbon if it is not your preference.
- Bells – lastly, something that looks beautiful and can be a nice addition to your wreath are bells. Placing a couple of bells can add such a nice and festive vibe to your wreath. You can skip this step if you don’t like bells.
Where to place your wreath
The usual place for a Christmas wreath would be your front door but there are other places you can also place it on.
Some good suggestions would be above your mantel, against your windows, above beds, in your kitchen wall, on dining chairs or any door in your home.
