Description

These Southwest Chicken Breasts are bursting with flavor thanks to a zesty marinade of lime juice, spices, and brown sugar. Perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner, this dish is ideal for anyone seeking a delightful homemade meal.


Ingredients

  • pounds chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup avocado oil
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder
  • 1 each chili in adobo sauce, seeds removed and minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 whole lime

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the chicken breasts and place them in a freezer bag or between plastic wrap.
  2. Pound the chicken with a meat tenderizer, rolling pin, or mason jar to flatten it.
  3. Mix avocado oil, lime juice, garlic, brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, cayenne powder, and minced chili in a small bowl until well combined.
  4. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it's well coated.
  5. Refrigerate the marinated chicken for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours.

Notes

For best results, marinate the chicken overnight for maximum flavor.
