Description

These Salty Potato Chip Rice Krispie Treats combine sweet marshmallows with savory kettle-cooked chips, creating a delightful treat for gatherings or a snack at home. Quick to prepare and irresistibly tasty, they’re perfect for anyone looking for a fun and easy dessert!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 (10 ounce) bags mini marshmallows
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 cups rice krispies cereal
  • 2 cups crushed kettle cooked potato chips
  • 2 ounces dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9×13 inch pan with nonstick baking spray.
  2. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat until bubbly and brown bits appear at the bottom, then reduce heat to low.
  3. Add one bag of marshmallows and ¼ of the second bag to the pot. Stir until creamy and fully melted, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  4. Mix in the rice krispies cereal with a large spatula. When halfway combined, add the crushed potato chips and mix until evenly distributed.
  5. Incorporate the remaining marshmallows, pressing the mixture into the prepared pan using wax or parchment paper to smooth the top.
  6. Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between, and drizzle over the treats once melted.
  7. Allow the chocolate to set before cutting into squares.

Notes

Use flavored or plain potato chips for different tastes.
Store treats in an airtight container for up to a week.
Feel free to add nuts or dried fruit for extra texture.
