Description

Pineapple Pretzel Salad features a crunchy pretzel base, creamy filling, and a fruity jello layer. Perfect for any gathering, this easy dessert combines irresistible flavors that everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 cups mini pretzels, crushed
  • 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar, divided
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 12 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 16 ounces whipped cream, thawed
  • 1 cup water, boiling
  • 40 ounces crushed pineapple, in 100% juice
  • 6 ounces pineapple Jello
  • 1 small can pineapple chunks, optional, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Spray a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine crushed pretzels with ½ cup of the sugar.
  4. Add melted butter to the pretzel mixture and stir until fully coated.
  5. Spread the pretzel mixture evenly in the baking dish, pressing firmly to create a solid base.
  6. Bake the pretzel crust for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
  7. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth and free of lumps.
  8. Mix in the remaining ¾ cup of sugar and vanilla extract for one minute until well combined.
  9. Fold in 12 ounces of thawed whipped cream until fully combined with the cream cheese.
  10. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust, sealing the sides.
  11. In a large bowl, mix boiling water with pineapple jello packets until dissolved.
  12. Drain the juice from one can of pineapple and add only the pineapple to the jello mixture; add the second can with juice included.
  13. Chill the jello mixture for 20 minutes until slightly thickened, then pour it over the cream cheese layer.
  14. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least 4 hours or until jello is fully set.
  15. Slice the dessert and top with a dollop of reserved Cool Whip and a small chunk of pineapple if desired.

Notes

You can substitute regular whipped cream for Cool Whip if you prefer.
Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for a smoother mixture.
Let the jello cool before pouring it over the cream cheese to avoid melting the layer underneath.
