Description

This Peach Crisp is a mouthwatering dessert featuring juicy peaches and a crunchy topping. Easy to make and perfect for any occasion, it promises a delightful treat for fruit lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds ripe peaches peeled, pitted and cut into 8 pieces
  • 2/3 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup white all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 stick salted butter cut into very small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a 9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray, set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, add the sliced peaches and sugar; toss to coat and set aside.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, rolled oats, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Add the diced butter to the mixture, using a pastry blender or fork to create coarse crumbs.
  6. Return to the bowl of peaches, add vanilla, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt; toss to coat the slices.
  7. Transfer the peaches to the prepared baking dish.
  8. Spread the crumb topping over the peaches evenly.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the topping is golden and juices are bubbling around the edges.
  10. Remove from the oven and let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
  11. Optional: Serve with vanilla ice cream and a sprig of mint.

Notes

For a healthier option, use less sugar or substitute with honey or maple syrup.
Make sure to let the crisp cool for a few minutes to enhance the flavors before serving.
Serve warm for the best experience, especially with a scoop of ice cream.
