Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp matcha powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and white chocolate chips together until smooth. Stir in the matcha powder until well combined, then let it cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and kosher salt together.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture, mixing until everything is fully blended.
- Gently fold in the flour until there are no more streaks of flour visible.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Drizzle the slightly cooled matcha ganache over the top of the batter.
- Bake for about 30 minutes, checking to see that the edges are set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them into squares.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
For a richer flavor, consider adding chopped white chocolate or nuts.
Adjust the amount of matcha powder based on your taste preference; less matcha for milder flavor.
