Description

These grilled tofu skewers are bursting with flavor! Made with extra firm tofu and paired with a delicious peanut dipping sauce, they’re perfect for a quick meal or a healthy dinner. Easy to prepare, they’re a must-try for any vegan food lover!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounce) block extra firm tofu, pat dry and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar or white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, optional, for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce or sweet soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice, freshly squeezed

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed tofu with soy sauce, sesame oil, and vinegar, stirring well to coat evenly.
  2. Thread the marinated tofu onto bamboo skewers, leaving space between each cube. Add 4-5 cubes to each skewer.
  3. Lightly brush a grill pan or large skillet with oil and preheat over medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes until shimmering. Place skewers in the pan, grilling for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Occasionally brush with leftover soy sauce marinade.
  4. Prepare the peanut dipping sauce by whisking together hoisin sauce, peanut butter, water, sesame oil, and lime juice until smooth. Set aside.
  5. Once grilled, sprinkle tofu skewers with sesame seeds and serve immediately with the peanut dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the tofu for a few hours or overnight before grilling.
Feel free to add veggies like bell peppers or zucchini to the skewers for added nutrition and color.
Use a non-stick pan if you don’t have a grill for easy cooking.
