Description

  • ½ yellow onion, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • Pinch of sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 24 oz vegan ground beef
  • ½ yellow onion, minced
  • 1 cup parboiled white rice
  • ¼ cup grated carrot
  • ¼ cup raisins (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 medium green cabbage
  • Fresh dill, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced onion and salt to the skillet and sauté until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for another 2 minutes or until fragrant.
  4. Incorporate the tomato sauce, vegetable broth, sugar, and black pepper into the skillet.
  5. Stir everything together and bring to a simmer.
  6. Let it simmer for 10 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  7. Adjust the seasoning with salt and black pepper to taste, then set the sauce aside.

Notes

You can use quinoa instead of rice for a gluten-free option.
Serving with fresh dill adds a nice touch of flavor and presentation.
