Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz. elbow macaroni
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons mustard powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 oz. Velveeta cheese, ~1 cup
- 4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese, ~1 cup
Instructions
- Bring 4 quarts of salted water to a boil in a large pot. Add the elbow macaroni and cook for 10 minutes until very tender, then drain and return to the pot.
- Add heavy cream, mustard powder, salt, Velveeta, and shredded cheddar to the pot over low heat. Stir constantly for 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts into a smooth sauce, avoiding boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir once more to evenly coat the pasta. Serve hot for the best creamy texture.
Notes
For more creaminess, add a splash of heavy cream when serving.
Make sure to stir constantly on low heat to prevent the sauce from becoming grainy.
This dish pairs well with a side salad for a complete meal.
