Ingredients
Scale
- 1 strawberry cake mix
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- chocolate chips or chocolate candy melts
- sprinkles, if desired
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pans). In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, vanilla, and eggs. Mix until a dough forms.
- Refrigerate the dough for 15 to 30 minutes. Once chilled, shape the dough into 1-inch balls.
- On ungreased cookie sheets, space the balls about 2 inches apart. Bake in the oven for 9-12 minutes, until the tops look dry and the bottoms are just starting to turn golden.
- Let the cookies cool for 1 minute on the sheets before transferring them to cooling racks. Allow them to cool completely, about 30 minutes.
- Drizzle melted chocolate over one side of the cookies or dip them completely into the chocolate, depending on your preference. If desired, sprinkle with valentine-themed sprinkles.
Notes
For a more chocolaty flavor, use chocolate candy melts instead of chocolate chips.
Ensure cookies are completely cooled before drizzling with chocolate to prevent it from melting too much.
Feel free to customize with different sprinkles according to the occasion.
