Description

These Caramelized Figs offer a delightful blend of sweet and savory with simple preparation. Topped with honey, thyme, and crunchy pistachios, they’re a perfect treat for breakfast or dessert lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 4-inch sprig thyme
  • 3 large figs, cut in half
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 ounces greek yogurt, plain or vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons pistachios, toasted

Instructions

  1. Heat a medium skillet over medium-low heat and add the honey and thyme leaves. Cook for about 1 minute.
  2. Add the fig halves cut-side down into the honey and caramelize for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Turn the figs over using tongs and sauté for another 2 minutes before removing from heat. Stir in the vanilla.
  4. Serve the caramelized figs over Greek yogurt, drizzle with thyme honey, and sprinkle with toasted pistachios.

Notes

For extra depth, use fresh thyme sprigs if available.
Honey can be substituted with maple syrup for a different flavor profile.
Ensure figs are ripe for the best sweetness and texture.
