- 3 cups whipping cream
- ¾ cup powdered sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1 angel food cake (or pound cake, 10 to 12 ounces)
- 2 pounds strawberries
- 1 pint blueberries
- 3 tablespoons seedless strawberry jam
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon honey (or sugar)
- ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce by whisking together seedless strawberry jam, lemon juice, honey, and ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, beat the whipping cream with powdered sugar and 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Cut the angel food cake into bite-sized pieces and layer them at the bottom of a trifle dish or glass bowl.
- Add a layer of the whipped cream mixture on top of the cake pieces.
- Next, layer in the strawberries and blueberries, creating a colorful display.
- Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining cream and berries on top.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using different berries like raspberries or blackberries.
Chill the trifle for a couple of hours before serving to enhance the flavors and set the layers.
