Description

This Berry Trifle is a showstopper dessert, featuring layers of luscious whipped cream and fresh berries. Perfectly easy to prepare, it brings a burst of flavor to any occasion!


Ingredients

  • 3 cups whipping cream
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 angel food cake (or pound cake, 10 to 12 ounces)
  • 2 pounds strawberries
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 3 tablespoons seedless strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or sugar)
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by whisking together seedless strawberry jam, lemon juice, honey, and ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the whipping cream with powdered sugar and 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  3. Cut the angel food cake into bite-sized pieces and layer them at the bottom of a trifle dish or glass bowl.
  4. Add a layer of the whipped cream mixture on top of the cake pieces.
  5. Next, layer in the strawberries and blueberries, creating a colorful display.
  6. Repeat the layers, finishing with the remaining cream and berries on top.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using different berries like raspberries or blackberries.
Chill the trifle for a couple of hours before serving to enhance the flavors and set the layers.
