- 1½ cups grated apple granny smith, gala, or pink lady
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 large egg cold
- â…” cup heavy whipping cream cold
- ½ cup cinnamon sweet bits store bought or make your own
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the grated butter and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in the grated apples and sweet bits, followed by the egg and whipping cream.
- Blend until just combined, then shape the dough into rounds and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake until golden brown, then remove from the oven.
- Let cool slightly, then drizzle with powdered sugar icing combined with cinnamon and vanilla.
