Description

This Simple Air Fryer Roast Chicken is packed with flavor and requires minimal prep. Juicy, tender chicken infused with lemon and butter, perfect for a quick dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole chicken (3.5 pounds, giblets removed)
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1.5 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Dry the chicken with paper towels and pierce the lemon half several times before placing it in the cavity.
  2. Rub half of the softened butter on the chicken's breast side, and season generously with salt and pepper. Turn the chicken over, butter the underside, and season it as well.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
  4. Place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket and cook for 30 minutes.
  5. Flip the chicken to breast-side up and cook for an additional 25 minutes, or until golden brown and the thermometer reads at least 160°F.
  6. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving to ensure it's juicy and reaches a safe serving temperature of 165°F.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding herbs such as rosemary or thyme to the cavity before cooking.
Make sure the chicken is fully thawed and dry for even cooking.
Allowing the chicken to rest after cooking helps retain moisture.
