Description

Shrimp Alfredo Garlic Bread combines tender shrimp and a creamy, cheesy alfredo sauce, all served on toasted garlic butter bread. This dish is perfect for quick weeknight dinners, providing comfort and flavor that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf italian bread, sliced lengthwise
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 pound (31 to 35 per pound) medium shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced (about ½ cup)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 2 cups (476 g) heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups (200 g) parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup (113 g) mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup (113 g) white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix softened butter with garlic salt and spread it evenly on the sliced italian bread.
  3. Place the prepared bread on the baking sheet and bake in the oven until golden and crisp, about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a pan over medium heat. Add in diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  6. Add the shrimp to the pan, seasoning them with kosher salt, black pepper, and cook until pink, around 3-5 minutes. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  7. In the same pan, pour in the heavy whipping cream, adding parmesan cheese, kosher salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir continuously until the cheese has melted and the sauce has thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
  8. Return the shrimp to the sauce and mix well.
  9. Spread the shrimp alfredo mixture over the toasted garlic bread and top with mozzarella and white cheddar cheese.
  10. Bake again for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add more garlic or a squeeze of lemon juice to the shrimp alfredo mixture.
Feel free to substitute the cheeses with your favorites, just ensure they melt well.
You can make the shrimp ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for easier preparation.
