Description

This Easy Sakura Latte boasts irresistible flavor and simple preparation. With cherry blossom syrup and matcha, it makes for a delightful homemade drink. Perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk (240 grams)
  • 4 teaspoons cherry blossom syrup
  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • ½ cup hot water
  • ¼ cup cream, optional (60 grams)

Instructions

  • Sift the matcha powder using a fine mesh sieve into a small bowl.
  • Pour ¼ cup of hot water (170℉ or 80°C) over the matcha and whisk until foamy.
  • Add the remaining hot water to the matcha and mix gently until combined.
  • In a separate jug or bowl, mix milk and cherry blossom syrup well.
  • Fill two large glasses halfway with ice cubes and pour the Sakura milk into them.
  • Slowly pour the matcha tea on top to maintain the layers.
  • If desired, add a bit of cream on top before serving.

Notes

Using a bamboo whisk creates a better froth for the matcha.
Make sure the hot water is not boiling to avoid bitterness in the matcha.
Adjust the sweetness by altering the amount of cherry blossom syrup.
