Ingredients
Scale
- 3 medium avocados
- ½ teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ – 1 teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1–2 tablespoons lime juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 small tomatoes deseeded and diced
Instructions
- Cut open avocados lengthwise, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh into a mixing bowl.
- Mash the avocado gently with a fork or potato masher, keeping it a bit chunky.
- Mix in cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, ½ teaspoon salt, pepper, and 1 tablespoon lime juice.
- For smoother guacamole, mash the spices into the avocado; for chunkier, stir in with a spatula.
- Add the chopped cilantro and diced tomatoes, then stir until combined.
- Taste and adjust salt or lime juice as needed.
- Let sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature before serving.
- For longer storage, refrigerate tightly covered with plastic wrap to prevent browning.
Notes
The guacamole tastes even better if left to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
To keep guacamole from browning, place a pit in the center and cover with lime juice and plastic wrap.
