- 4 tbsp unsalted butter can substitute with vegan butter
- 1 cup heavy cream coconut cream for dairy-free option
- 1 tbsp gelatin consider agar-agar for vegetarian option
- 1 cup granulated sugar coconut sugar for less refined sweetness
- 1 tsp sea salt fleur de sel for gourmet finish
- 1 cup fresh berries for vibrant presentation
- 1/4 cup chocolate shavings for elegant finish
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate and butter together in a double boiler, stirring gently until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
- Whip the heavy cream in a large mixing bowl until soft peaks form. Gently fold it into the cooled chocolate mixture.
- Caramelize the granulated sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat until it reaches a golden amber color. Add in the butter and heavy cream, stirring continuously until smooth, then stir in the sea salt.
- Spoon the mousse into dome molds, creating an indentation in each. Fill the indentations with salted caramel and cover with more mousse. Chill for at least 4 hours.
- Unmold the chilled mousse domes by gently pressing on the sides and serve chilled.
