Description

Enjoy this Crockpot Onion Dip featuring rich flavors from onions, cream cheese, and sour cream. It’s a simple, delicious dish ideal for parties or cozy nights in, combining effortless preparation with amazing taste.


Ingredients

  • 3 large onions (or 4 medium onions)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (half brick, softened)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice each onion in half and discard the ends and peel, then cut each half into thin strips.
  2. Place the sliced onions in the crockpot, drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and mix until coated. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
  3. After cooking, stir in the sour cream, softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and hot sauce. Mix until combined. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. For a thicker dip, drain some juices if desired.
  4. To keep warm, leave the dip in the slow cooker on the 'keep warm' setting. For a cold dip, transfer to a container and chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For a thicker dip, consider draining excess juices after cooking the onions.
You can adjust the level of hot sauce based on your spice preference.
This dip can be prepared a day in advance and served cold or reheated.
